Daily COVID numbers for Stephens County

The Georgia Department of Public Health is reporting 114 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County with 4,707 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

In Stephens County there has been a total of 360 hospitalizations due to the virus since the start of the pandemic.

The latest report was released Thursday afternoon.

In the last two weeks, ending December 30, the DPH reports a total of 69 new cases in Stephens County.

For surrounding counties, Habersham County has 166 new cases in the last two weeks, Rabun County has 33, Banks County has 76, Franklin County has 48, and Hart County has 54 new cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been a total of 1,402,483 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 94,582 have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 26,407.
