Currahee Waste Products builds bridge to be placed in Georgia

A local business here in Stephens County, known for manufacturing waste compactors and haulers, builds complex bridge to be placed in Georgia.

Currahee Waste Products not only specializes in constructing waste compactors and haulers, but also, the manufacturing of bridges.

Owner Rusty Harrison told WNEG News that they have bridges in North Carolina and South Carolina, but they haven’t, until now, been in Georgia.

Stephens County Development Authority Chairman Brian Akin in response to the news expressed how proud he is of Harrison and his team of workers at Currahee Waste Products.

Akin continued by acknowledging how fun it is to hear about the many different products that are manufactured here in Stephens County and shipped to other places.

Currahee Welding and Machine was founded in 1989 and specializes in the waste and waste water industries.

In 2009, they ventured into manufacturing waste packing machines and became Currahee Waste Products.

Now they manufacture 9, 11, and 13 cubic yard packing vehicles and have 8 employees.

Currahee Waste Products started manufacturing bridges in 2015.
