Currahee Artists’ Guild invites students to submit Artwork

The Currahee Artists’ Guild invites all students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade to participate in its judged art competition to be held during the Currahee Artists’ Guild Spring Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, May 5 in downtown Toccoa.

The judged competition is open to all student work in any medium.

Entry forms are available from the art teachers at Stephens County Schools, the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce or The Studio, located at 61 Doyle Street, and returned no later than Monday, April 30.

Awards and prizes will be given in each category; Grades K through 2nd, 3rd through 5th, 6th through 8th, and 9th through 12th.

In order to be eligible for the recognition awards students must bring his or her work, limited to two pieces per student, to the show between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. and attend the awards ceremony at 4 p.m.

Art work need not be framed or matted, but should have a rigid support, such as cardboard or foam board, and a hook, string or wire for hanging.

The location for the student show will be under the covered breezeway and the guild will supply panels and ID cards for the art.
