County’s Polar Express hits the road tonight in final tour

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners will again be spreading Christmas Cheer this week as they take the county-sponsored Polar Express through several neighborhoods.

Stephens County Commissioner Michelle Ivester explained during a recent County Commission meeting that the county decided to take the Polar Express on the road in hopes of bringing out the Christmas Spirit.

Ivester says to close out the tour, tonight, beginning at 5 p.m. the Polar Express’ route will start at the Road Department on Scenic Drive to Hwy 17, left onto Hwy 123, right onto Fernside Drive, left onto Wesley Circle, left onto Foxdale, left onto Fernside, Left onto Hwy 17, left onto Rock Creek Road, left onto Crawford Hills, right onto Hwy 17, left onto Skyline Drive, left on Roselane, Left onto Rothell, left onto Pebble Creek, right onto Julia Lane, left onto Rothell to Collier Road, right onto Swift Street, right onto Collins Road, and Right onto Stephens Drive.

Additionally, the Polar Express tour will be used as a collection site for new toys to be distributed to the local Toys for Tots campaign.
