County now accepting applications for the recently funded, full-time Deputy Registrar position

Stephens County is accepting applications for the recently funded, full-time Deputy Registrar position.

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners will be accepting applications up until the first week of August.

County Administrator Phyllis Ayers says the county will be accepting applications until August 2.

“I met with Eureka and the Board of Elections today (Tuesday, July 16), and we went over a job description for a Deputy Registrar. Our HR Clerk will be getting that posted out as a full-time, open-position.” Ayers said. “We will probably close [the applications] on August 2. Then we will begin vetting them, and begin the interview process.”

The Deputy Registrar will perform routine and non-routine administrative and clerical tasks to support the operations of the Registrar’s Office and to provide assistance in coordinating the voter registration and election process.

This position will support the daily operations of the office by answering phone calls, providing information, copying and filing documents; also, the Deputy Registrar will attend meetings and training sessions as required by the state.

Ayers adds that the minimum qualifications for the position include 1-year of experience in a clerical or administrative position working with the public; or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job.

All applications will be received at the Stephens County Commissioners’ Office, at the Historic County Courthouse.
