County commissioners to recognize 2023 All Stars at tomorrow’s meeting

Members of the Toccoa Little League Junior League and Senior League All-Stars teams will be recognized for their outstanding 2023 seasons at tomorrow’s regularly-scheduled meeting of the Stephens County Board of Commissioners. Communications officer Shift Supervisor Sherry Trip will also be recognized for 20 years of service with Stephens County 911.

Also on tomorrow’s agenda are two public hearings on the county’s proposed abandonment of Elrod Road and a portion of Fieldale Road. 

Other items on the agenda are consideration of a commercial lease agreement with the Toccoa-Stephens County Humane Shelter, consideration of the appointment of a replacement to fill Billy Chism’s unexpired term on the Stephens County Board of Elections, as well as appointment of a replacement to fill Jeremy Spradlin’s unexpired term on the Franklin, Hart and Stephens Counties Joint Development Authority. Board members are also scheduled for a discussion with Stephens County Health Department officials regarding an update to the fee schedule. 

The meeting will take place tomorrow, September 12, at  6  p.m. at the Stephens County Historic Courthouse in Toccoa. The public is invited to attend.
