Continuing WNEG’s Look at Stephens County Hospital Initiatives

In looking at recent initiatives and advancements at Stephens County Hospital, last week we heard from Hospital CEO Van Loskoski about the financial status of the hospital, which is currently operating in the black,  and about the new hospitalist team of internists  as well as the new cardiology partnership with Northside Hospital and the ongoing success of the hospital’s stroke program, which is now reaching its 1st year anniversary. Loskoski also told WNEG News about recent customer satisfaction ratings that place SCH in the top 97 percent of hospitals in the state, according to state-required customer survey responses.

Today we continue our coverage of our interview with Loskoski about advances and changes at the hospital, including the new medical records system being put in place. As WNEG News reported in September (Sep 11, 2023 ) of last year, the hospital was considering consolidating and upgrading Electronic Medical Records system

Loskoski said the hospital selected a commonly-used company to implement the new system, and said it will provide a more efficient workflow.

Loskoski also spoke of a new virtual nurse program being implemented at the hospital, allowing for a remote, dedicated nurse to handle intake and outtake consultations with patients.

Loskoski also talked about challenges facing the hospital in the near future.
