Community Cleanup Day is this Friday

Georgia Upstate Lakes Board of Realtors was recently awarded a $5000 Sustainability Grant from the National Association of Realtors® to support activities that promote sustainability and resiliency.

The grant is being used to support an organized tri-county environmental cleanup effort within Stephens, Franklin and Hart Counties. The Community Cleanup Day is this Friday from 10 A.M.-2 P.M. and volunteers will receive a free swag bag, t-shirt, and refreshments while they last.

Volunteers are asked to meet before 10 A.M. this Friday at the Eastanollee Cannery on Eastanollee School Road in Stephens County, at 851 Franklin County Boat Ramp Road in Franklin County, and at 1598 Old Highway 29 at Oak Bower Baptist Church in Hart County.

The National Association of Realtors offered the Sustainability Grant to state and local associations nationwide, to help implement a sustainability program, event, plan or update for their members, and encourage ongoing awareness about the high value of sustainability in real estate. This year, the pilot year for the Sustainability Grant, a total of 21 associations were selected by the NAR member-led team of evaluators to receive up to $5,000 for their sustainability-focused projects. This was a competitive grant with limited total funding and NAR was pleased to have received many great applications and interest from associations across all regions of the U.S. for this new opportunity.

The National Association of Realtors® is America’s largest trade association, representing more than 1.5 million members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.
