Colwell and Moore Sign with Schools

Two Stephens County High School basketball players will be taking their athletic talents to the college level.

Kenny Colwell and Lindsay Moore held signing ceremonies last week at the high school.

Kenny will be staying home and going to Toccoa Falls College.  He led the Indians in rebounds both his junior and senior seasons, led the team in scoring his junior year, and made All-Region as a junior and senior.  Kenny says he decided to attend Toccoa Falls and play for the Screaming Eagles because it is close to home.  “There was one main camp I went to and Coach Epps (TFC Boys Head Coach) was there.  He had heard about me, and he really enjoyed watching me play.  A few weeks later he decided to give me an offer…I feel like I can really be a part of a family there.”  Kenny is the son of Al and Karen Colwell.  He plans on majoring in History Education and someday becoming a teacher and coach.

Lindsay Moore will continue her academic and athletic career at Agnes Scott College in Decatur.  Lindsay was one of seven seniors who helped lead the Lady Indians to the state quarterfinals and a region title this past season.  Lindsay says she was interested in Agnes Scott before the opportunity to play basketball was offered.  “They have a really good nursing program.  I went and toured there and I really love the campus.   So I was already considering going there even if I did not get a basketball scholarship.”  Lindsay is the daughter of Jason and Stephanie Moore.  She plans on majoring in nursing and becoming a nurse practitioner.
