Cocaine recovered from E. Tugalo St. residence

Deputies and investigators with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office, alongside Officers from the Toccoa Police Department went to a Toccoa residence to follow up on an investigation.

While at the home, located at 292 East Tugalo Street, investigators made contact with Jarod Bashawn Pulliam, 27, of Toccoa, who had been living at the residence with his girlfriend and her family.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, his investigators learned that Pulliam was on active felony probation with a waiver of his 4th amendment rights.

When a probationer has waived their 4th amendment rights, law enforcement is allowed to search the probationer’s person, vehicle(s), or home without justification.

Based on this information, deputies conducted a search of Pulliam’s room.

According to Shirley, Deputies uncovered a pistol hidden in a clothesbasket in his room as well as a small quantity of marijuana, a set of digital scales, drug paraphernalia and multiple baggies of cocaine.

Pulliam was arrested and charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

As of Tuesday evening, Pulliam is being held at the Stephens County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
