Ckdpack produces PPE and makes donation to Stephens County Law Enforcement and Healthcare workers.

A Stephens County Industry recently made a donation of Personal Protective Equipment to Stephens County Law Enforcement and Stephens County Health Care Facilities.

CKDPack Packaging, located in Eastanollee other international locations, has retooled its equipment to manufacture and supply face masks, gowns and face shields.

According to CKDPack Packaging Chief Executive Officer Arun Mogdil, the motivation behind producing PPE is because of the substantial need for this protective equipment to combat COVID-19. “We are actually a packaging company that manufacture a lot of products, which include products made from fabrics and materials that are similar to masks and gowns. When this virus hit we decided to switch over to manufacture masks and gowns at different locations because we were aware of the materials and we were aware of the processes needed to manufacture these products, so we decided to switch over to manufacture masks and gowns and that’s how we got into PPE,” Mogdil said.

Eastanollee CKDPack Production Manager Scott Jones says he’s glad to provide this needed equipment to the Stephens County community of healthcare workers and law enforcement. “I’m just glad to be able to provide a much-needed product to the community. Normally, we’re just a bunch of welders, but now we’re learning how to sew. This is really needed at this time, and hopefully, will prevent any further spread of COVID-19.”

Stephens County Development Authority Executive Director Tim Martin says the Development Authority is proud of the existing industries in Stephens County, but more so, “we are quite proud of Ckdpack, who is a manufacturer of PPE, has donated to our community 500 cotton mask, some protective face shields, and some protective gowns. We will be sharing those across our community to those who need it, specifically we’re going to focus on the medical community by way of Open Arms Clinic. We cannot be more thankful. This is an international company, located right here in Toccoa, Georgia that has retooled their operating practices to accommodate this need for PPE.”

Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley accepted a portion of the donation to distribute to local law enforcement in Stephens County. Shirley says this is a generous donation that was desperately needed. “We had a patient that we had to carry to Gainesville today, and we could have used an apron because they have to go through the tent that is set up outside. That deputy will have to go home, change out of that uniform, spray the car, and put on a new uniform before coming back. So, we can’t say ‘thank you’ enough.”
