City of Toccoa issues Sanitary Sewer Spill Notice

The City of Toccoa has issued a sanitary sewer spill notice.

According to the notice, a sanitary sewer spill occurred Tuesday, February 22, in the sewer right-of-way between Robinson Way and Poplar Street.

City of Toccoa crew members discovered the overflow condition at 1:00 p.m. which was caused by grease accumulation.

The sanitary sewer overflow condition ceased around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The total volume released was estimated at approximately 1,000 gallons.

All required signage has been posted near the site.

City crew members will continue to monitor the spill location for line blockages.
