City of Toccoa enacts changes to comply with Governor Kemp’s Executive Orders

The City of Toccoa has announced that in light of COVID-19, the city will continue to provide essential services to the residents of Toccoa.

According to Toccoa Mayor Terry Carter City Hall will continue to be closed to all walk-in traffic.

“In an effort to comply with Governor Kemp’s executive orders we have made some changes at City Hall as well as throughout the city that we wanted to make the citizens aware of. City Hall will continue to be closed to walk-in traffic, the drive-thru window will be open for cash and check payments; however, the drive-thru will be limited in hours to afternoons Monday through Friday from 1 to 5 p.m.,” he said.

Carter says solid waste customers are asked to bag their waste to reduce exposure to City Employees.

He adds that Lake Toccoa Golf Course will be closed until further notice.

“At the Lake Toccoa facility, the Links Golf Course will be closed. We’ll use this time for employees to perform annual maintenance projects and aeration to the course. Ping’s Grill will remain closed and all of the events scheduled for April at Reflections has been cancelled,” he said.

Carter says the 2021 Operating Budget review and approval has been delayed for at least a month.

He says the Toccoa City Commission will now meet by teleconference.

“Future City Commission meetings will be conducted by teleconference. The City Commission meets the second and fourth Mondays. Our next meeting is going to be April 13. The public is welcome to listen in on those meetings by calling 706-898-5160 and they’ll be asked to enter a code, the code is: 790453 we will continue to publicize that number and code all of next week,” he said.
