City Commission to Meet Tonight

The Toccoa City Commission will meet at 5 p.m. today for a regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting will take place at City Hall, 92 N. Alexander Street. 

On the agenda for the meeting is a reading of a Proclamation declaring Feb. 16 as Toccoa Arbor Day;

Consideration of an Alcohol Beverage Control License for beer and wine consumption at Toccoa Bowling Center, located at 910 Rose Lane. The ABC Board has recommended approval of the application; 

Consideration of a statewide Mutual Aid and Assistance Agreement regarding mutual assistance between counties during emergencies or disasters; 

And consideration of an agreement with Avita Community Partners for the Employee Assistance Program Service, to be effective Jan. 15. According to agenda documentation, approval would provide for up to six counseling sessions, at no charge, for city employees and dependents. Under the proposed agreement, the city would pay Avita Counseling Services $120.04 for each hour of service billed by a fully licensed practitioner, and $81.18 per hour for each hour of service billed by an associate licensed practitioner. The Employment Assistance Program has been included in the Toccoa City Employee Handbook since 1992.

The final item on the agenda is the monthly finance report.
