City commission meets tonight

The Toccoa City Commission will meet tonight for a regularly scheduled meeting.

The meeting begins at 5 p.m. in the Commision Courtroom at Toccoa City Hall, 92 North Alexander Street. The public is invited to attend.

The sole agenda item is the discussion of penalties for underaged alcohol sales at 156 W. Currahee Street.

An initial discussion on the penalties for this violation took place on July 14, when commissioners referred the matter back to the Alcoholic Beverages Control Board for further discussion and a recommendation.

The ABC Board met on August 28 regarding the matter, and is recommending a fine of $500 and a 10 day license suspension.
