City Commission meeting rescheduled

The Toccoa City Commission meeting set for September 11 has been rescheduled. This meeting will now take place on Monday, September 18, at 5 p.m. in the Commission Courtroom at Toccoa City Hall. The agenda for this meeting has not yet been published.

Also, the Downtown Development Authority has announced that they will meet at 8 a.m. this Friday, September 8, in the Commission Courtroom at Toccoa City Hall. 

On the agenda is discussion of recommendations for appointment to an unexpired term seat on the Authority. Authority Director Clint Sanders has announced that, due to ongoing scheduling and availability conflicts, he will be stepping down from his position. His term expires on June 30 of 2024, and the Toccoa City Commission will appoint a new member to serve the remainder of the term, following consideration of a recommendation from the Authority.

Currently, the following individuals have expressed interest in filling the unexpired seat, or are under consideration by the Authority for recommendation to the city commission: Jay Doss, Clay Power, Kimberly Moavero, and Bella Youngquist.

Other preliminary agenda items include a review of the August Budget and consideration of three Facade Grant requests  – one application, one reimbursement and one extension.
