City Commission makes appointments

During the recent City Commission meeting there were several appointments made by both the Mayor and the Commission.

Billy Morse was appointed City Manager.

Fredda Wheeler was appointed City Clerk.

Paul Garrison was appointed City Chaplain.

In one fell swoope, Commissioner Jeanette Jamison made a motion to appoint all three individuals.

The motion was seconded by Vice Mayor Gail Fry, and was unanimously passed.

Toccoa Mayor David Austin made the following appointments:

Jamison and Commissioner Evan Hellenga were appointed to the Humane Shelter Committee.

Jamison was also appointed to the Rural Conservation and Development Board.

Fry was appointed to the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce, the Stephens County Board of Health and the Keep Toccoa-Stephens County Beautiful Board.

Austin will serve on the Stephens County Development Authority, Georgia Mountains Regional Commission Board and the Airport Authority.

Commissioner Terry Carter was appointed to the Downtown Development Authority, the Historic Preservation Commission Liaison.
