Children’s Library of Martin has Grand Opening

The “Children’s Library of Martin, Georgia” was introduced at the grand opening on Monday.

Located in front of the Martin Community Center on Historic Highway 17 in Martin, the “little library” is designed for children ages preschool to 4th grade in the Martin area. It is a take one, leave one honor system though you do not have to leave a book in order to take a book.

The outdoor library was created and will be monitored by the Martin Woman’s Club. Project co-chair Dawn McCall of the Martin Woman’s Club tells WNEG why. “We really wanted something for our kids in our town. So, we came up with this project about two years ago. An Eagle Scout from Toccoa, Josiah Hall, helped us build it. We finished it a few months ago but wanted to wait until National Library Week to launch it for the kids here in Martin.”

The “Children’s Library of Martin, Georgia” will be open seven days a week, 24-hours a day and is freely accessible to all.
