Chestatee Downs Indians in Extras

The Stephens County Indians baseball team suffered the 2nd loss of the season falling at Chestatee 6-5 in 10 innings Wednesday night.

The Indians jumped out to an early lead scoring three in the top of the 1st inning behind an RBI single from Tyler Zigan and 2-RBI triple from Konnor Loudermilk.

Chestatee would pull within one at 3-2 before Loudermilk drove in his 3rd run of the game to make the score 4-2. Chestatee scored again in the bottom of the 4th to make the score 4-3.

The score remained 4-3 until the top of the 7th inning when Findley Ward’s sacrifice fly RBI gave the Indians a two-run cushion heading to the bottom of the 7th, but it was not enough as Chestatee rallied to tie the game to send it to extra innings and then picked up the win in the bottom of the third extra inning.

Loudermilk, Jack Wilhoit, and Hayden Scott all pitched well for the Indians now 3-2 on the season. Chestatee improves to 3-3.

Stephens County will return home on Thursday when they host Banks County. First pitch is scheduled for 5:30 P.M. with airtime at 5:20 P.M. on WNEG.
