Chamber, residents welcome Schoolhouse Vendor Market

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce and area citizens welcomed one of the community’s newest businesses on Thursday at a celebration for the opening of the Schoolhouse Vendor Market.

Schoolhouse Vendor Market is located at  2332 Mize Road in Toccoa, in the building that originally housed Carnes Creek Elementary School, and later served as the home of the Stephens County School District offices.

The market, a partnership effort between Michelle Milstead, Chelsea Long, and Erin Trammell, offers more than 9,000 square feet of antiques, collectibles, vintage and retro items, crafts, and more offered by market’s vendors. The Market also offers a variety of arts and craft classes, with a schedule of the upcoming classes available on the Market’s website, theschoolhousevendormarket.com.

Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen welcomed the new business and member of the Chamber, introducing Chelsea Long to tell the story of how the Schoolhouse Vendor Market came about.

Chelsea said the business was the result of a shared longtime passion for antiques and treasure hunting.

In addition, Milstead, Long and Trammell will host auctions and provide estate-sale services through the Prestige Auctions arm of their business.

Payson expressed the support of the Chamber of Commerce, and the city and county, and thanked the trio for choosing Stephens County as the location of their new business.

Stephens County Development Authority CEO and Executive Director Brittany Ivey voiced the Authority’s welcome to Long, Milstead and Trammel.
