Chamber of Commerce welcomes Stephens County Hospital’s new WorkWell office

The Stephens County Hospital recently extended its Occupational Health Services to an off-site office that can accommodate a wide range of services for local employers who want to improve the health, safety and productivity of their employees.

WorkWell, located at 115 Rock Quarry Road, in Toccoa, provides drug and alcohol screenings, a respiratory protection program, physical exams, urgent care, employee health and wellness, audiometric testing and Department of Transportation screenings.

On Wednesday, the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony at the WorkWell office.

Stephens County Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer Kathy Whitmire spoke during the ceremony about WorkWell and the role it will play throughout the community.

“We decided we wanted to invest in Stephens County and provide a service for our industries and businesses here in Stephens County and in Toccoa. We offer very affordable care for employers to send their employees to use our occupational health services,” Whitmire said.

WorkWell’s Occupational Medicine Clinic Director Elizabeth Turner told WNEG News about some of the many services they offer.

“WorkWell’s goal is to promote healthy and safe workplaces for the community. We offer a wide range of services including drug and alcohol testing, we have a respiratory protection program for companies, we are an urgent care facility, and we offer physical exams and many more programs for companies,” Turner said.

WorkWell is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Drug or Alcohol screenings do not require an appointment.
