Carnesville man arrested by SCSO for sending obscene text messages, explicit photos to juvenile

The Stephens County Sheriff’s Office with the help of deputies with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest after receiving information that an individual was sending obscene text messages and explicit photos to a juvenile.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, investigators obtained the juvenile’s phone and found multiple lude photographs and text messages requesting sexual contact, all apparently from the same individual.

Shirley says investigators were able to identify a suspect through text messages and photographs that were recovered from the juvenile’s cellphone.

That lead to a positive identification of a male suspect who lived in Franklin County.

Stephens County Sheriff’s Office investigators met with Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies to assist in the arrest of the suspect.

Authorities traveled to 189 Chapel Drive in Carnesville, where they located and arrested 53-year-old Wade Wagner.

Wagner is currently being held at the Stephens County Jail on charges of electronically furnishing obscene material to minors; use of computer service to seduce, solicit, lure or entice a child to commit an illegal act; pandering a person under 18; enticing a child for indecent purposes; solicitation of sodomy to a child under the age of 18.

Wagner’s bond has been set at $101,000.
