Candidate Town Hall coming up later this month

As a reminder, the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce’s Town Hall Meeting for residents to hear from the candidates who qualified for the Stephens County Board of Commissioners and the Stephens County Board of Education will be coming up later this month.

The Town Hall will be held on Monday, April 25, at 6 p.m. inside the Historic Ritz Theatre.

According to Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce President Julie Paysen, the Town Hall will give citizens an opportunity to ask questions and learn about the candidates.

Questions for candidates can be submitted online at visittoccoa.com.

For the Stephens County Board of Commissioners Post 1, Libertarian candidate Craig Oglesby, Democratic candidate Kathy Pauly, and Republican candidates Bo Webb, T. Craig Beatty, Paresh ‘Tony’ Patel, Dennis Black, Lawrence S. Krul, and Tara D. Simmons will be participating.

For Post 4, Republican incumbent James Addison and Republicans Russ Addison, Chris Rickman, and Jesse Pitts will participate.

For the Stephens County Board of Education, Republican Incumbent James Roger ‘Jim’ Bellamy and Republican candidate Amber Gilbert will participate as District 1 Post 2 candidates.

Republican candidates Tripp Arrowood and Mary Day Widner will represent District 2 Post 1.

Republican Incumbent Travis Dobbs, Republican candidates Kendrick Maxwell and Kayla Caudell Smith, and Democratic candidates Shantelle Grant and Kali R. Jackson have will represent District 2 Post 2.

The General Primary Election will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022, and the General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022.

Again, on Monday, April 25, the Candidate Town Hall meeting will start at 6 p.m. at the Historic Ritz Theatre.
