BREAKING NEWS: Three suspects have been captured after stealing two vehicles Sunday

The three suspects wanted in connection to stealing two vehicles have been captured.

That’s according to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley.

On Sunday, three men entered an unlocked vehicle on Rock Creek Road and took items from the vehicle.

According to reports, the homeowner had a security system that included an outside video surveillance system; however, at the time of the initial report, the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office had not broken down the video into still photos.

The suspects took off in a stolen black four-door Mazda, that they crashed on South Red Rock Road. The trio then fled on foot.

Later in the morning, the suspects were able to take a white 2008 Ford Super Duty Pickup with mild tinted windows.

One citizen saw the truck and attempted to stay with it while notifying 911; however, the citizen ultimately lost the truck.

A perimeter was set up while other deputies and two private citizens assisted in attempting to locate the truck.

The truck was located minutes later abandoned on Pinetree Road just off Whispering Pines Road.

The Lee Arrendale K-9 apprehension team was called in and began searching the area, near DeFoor, Pinetree, and Rock Creek roads.
