Law enforcement nab suspect who fled on foot after crash

The suspect who fled on foot Wednesday after being chased into Stephens County from Habersham County has been apprehended.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, Calvin Martin White, 32, of Missouri, was apprehended Thursday morning.

White is wanted in Missouri for four felony charges.

He is also facing numerous traffic related charges in Habersham and Stephens Counties.

The search for White began on Wednesday, after the Motor Carrier Division chased him into Stephens County, while he was driving a truck towing a skid steer.

White then lost control of the vehicle and went off the shoulder of the by-pass and into the woods.

He then jumped out and ran from authorities.

K-9s from the Sheriff’s Office and Lee Arrendale State Prison, along with air support from GSP canvassed the wooded area.

After calling the search off Wednesday afternoon, local law enforcement apprehended White Thursday morning.
