BREAKING NEWS: Arrest warrants issued for Toccoa man wanted in connection with Sunday’s fatal shooting

TPD, GBI secure murder warrant for 32-year-old Brodrique Simone Dixon, of Toccoa, for deadly shooting that occurred in Toccoa on Sunday.

Agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation have secured a murder warrant for Brodrique Simone Dixon, 32, of Toccoa, in connection to the deadly shooting that occurred in Stephens County, Sunday night.

As WNEG News reported Sunday, the shooting occurred near the Whitman Park, off of Broad Street, around 6:30 p.m.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, Stephens County 911 began receiving multiple calls reporting a shooting on Whitman Street in Toccoa.

When Toccoa Police Officers responded to the scene, they found two male victims injured from multiple gunshot wounds.

Police were able to perform CPR on one victim, identified as 30-year-old Christopher Tukes, of Lavonia, who later succumbed to his injuries at Stephens County Hospital.

The second victim, identified as 34-year-old Scottae Martin, of Toccoa, was transported by EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Martin was treated for his injuries and later released from the hospital.

Detectives with The Toccoa Police Department, along with GBI agents worked the scene and canvassed the neighborhood speaking with possible witnesses during the night Sunday.

Toccoa Fire Department was called back to the scene to provide lighting and assist with processing the scene.

It appeared the incident may have stemmed from a bet on a basketball game at another location and let to an altercation at the Whitman Street Park.
