Break-In at Lavonia Cracker Barrel

The new Cracker Barrel located near Interstate 85 on Highway 173 in Lavonia was broken into early Friday morning, but the would be robbers left empty handed.

Matt London, Assistant Police Chief of the Lavonia Police Department said they got the call in the early morning hours after the store had been closed and locked. “ Around 2:50 A.M. we received a call from an alarm company. Upon arrival officers determined there were pry marks on the front door. The door was locked.”

London says that authorities do have the suspects on camera. “ We do have surveillance video of at least four suspects. Three exited the car and one stayed in the car. They made entry with crowbars. They went to the cash register, but there was no money. They did break into one of the stock rooms, but did not get anything there. So fortunately, nothing was taken.”

London tells WNEG news that these same suspects are linked to two other recent robberies in Anderson County, South Carolina. A 7-11 store on Thursday night, and Leonard’s Gas Station on September 5th. The Lavonia Police Department does not think the crimes are related to the recent robbery at the Dollar General Store in Lavonia.

Assistant Police Chief London says the Lavonia Police Department is following all leads at this time. “We have sent out information sheets around the area, and we have it on our Facebook page to see if anyone recognizes the suspects. Unfortunately, they were covered head to toe with masks, bandanas, and gloves. So at this time we are still trying to develop suspects.”

London says the suspects were driving a late model White Chevrolet Malibu or Impala.
London says if anyone has any information on these suspects call the Lavonia Police department at 706-356-4848. You do not have to give your name.
