A Bowersville man, charged with five counts including rape is out on bond but under house arrest.

According to the Hart County Sheriff’s office, bond had initially been denied for 36-year-old Jeremy Leonard Green in Hart County Magistrate Court. However, he was released June 24 on a $250,000 bond set by a Hart County Superior Court judge.

However, that bond carries numerous conditions and restrictions, according to Hart County Clerk of Court Frankie Gray.

Those restrictions include, Green must appear in court when scheduled, must notify the Clerk of Court if he has to move or change his address.

Also, Green may not have any contact of any kind either directly or indirectly with victims or witnesses in the case. And he must not have any contact with any person that he taught at the YMCA.

Additionally, the bond states Green may not leave the state of Georgia unless the court grants leave, he must not violate any local, state, or federal laws.

And Green shall not possess any firearm, weapon, alcohol, illegal or legal but not valid prescribed drugs. Green must also wear an ankle monitor with a GPS device.

Gray said an amendment to the original bond conditions was filed on June 28 and bars him from possessing a cell phone, but he may have a landline. And he is only allowed to leave his residence for doctor appointments and to see his attorney and may not make any stops along the way to or from.

According to GBI Agent in Charge Jesse Maddox, Green was arrested by the investigators with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation on June 15 after Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland received a complaint about Green and turned the investigation over to them.

Green is charged with Child Molestation, Statutory Rape and Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes, Sodomy, and Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony, according to an arrest report obtained by WNEG News.

The GBI has also charged him with Sexual Exploitation of a Child/Child Pornography.

Cleveland said the charges go back years to a time when Green worked at the YMCA, in Hartwell, but the investigation is continuing.
