You can’t get a better view, the golf course is amazing, the service is outstanding and its in our backyard. We’re always excited to gather up here.”

Paysen added that the weather could not have been better for the 100 playing golf.

“We’ve got 25 teams of four, so we’ve got 100 golfers out here today. We’re grateful for all our sponsors and we’re grateful for the whole team it takes to pull something like this off. It’s always a good day, and it’s not raining to that’s good news,” Paysen said.

This year, teams were vying for a few prizes including Pro Shop gift packages with a $500 gift package being the top prize.

Keith, Drew and Paige Watson and Byron Young made up team Bowan & Watson who took first place.

Quality Foods’ Verlin Reece, Tim Floyd, Jacob Lord and Mark Bowen came in second place.

Lanier Apparel’s Bill Thomas, Dave Leveille, Mike Conley and Burt Holmes took third place.

Longest drive was awarded to Brian Davidson.

Closest to the Pin was awarded to Mike Conley.

Chamber of Commerce Chairman Bill Wheeler talked about the strength of community in Stephens County.

“One of the reasons so many of us have chosen to have our families here, rear our children here, because it is a community working together for a great quality of life, a great education system,” Wheeler said. “Chamber just happens to be in the heart of all that and partners with both the city and county. There are so many opportunities to showcase and enhance the quality of life in Stephens County.”
