BOE discusses travel budget

During the recent Stephens County Board of Education meeting, the board discussed amending the current fiscal year budget to include a travel budget for the County Extension Agent.

However, Board Member David Fricks was in opposition of providing funds to accommodate travel expenses for the county extension agent, saying that this could open a Pandora box for the board.

The travel expense would be up to $2,500.

Superintendent Bryan Dorsey, agreed that the scenario Fricks presented could present itself if the board approves reimbursing the extension agent.

Because of the board not being in an agreement, the item may not make it to the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting.

The BOE will meet Tuesday Oct. 17, at 5:30 in the Stephens County Board Office Administrative Building, located on Big A School Road.
