Board of Education approves plan to remove, reinstall 200 interactive panels at four schools

The Stephens County Board of Education approved a plan to have 200 interactive panels removed and later reinstalled as four schools in the system get painted over summer break.

The decision happened on Tuesday, during the Board of Education’s regular scheduled meeting.

According to Stephens County Schools Technology Director Brett Irvin, the plan involves removing interactive boards at Big A Elementary, Toccoa Elementary, 5th Grade Academy, and Stephens County Middle School, labeling the boards with their corresponding room number, moving boards to secure storage at each site, and reinstalling them prior to school beginning.

The total cost for the project is $25,400.

Irvin says Gary LeCroy with Galaxy G2 came in with the lowest bid.

He says LeCroy anticipates the removal and storing phase of the project can be completed in two days; however, Irvin thinks it could take longer.

A motion was made by Board Member Kay Reed with Board Member Len Stovall seconding the motion.

The motion was approved unanimously.
