BLM to hold peace walk this weekend in Toccoa

Toccoa’s Black Lives Matter group will be holding a peace walk this weekend in Downtown Toccoa.

On Saturday, beginning at 12 noon, the Peaceful Demonstration-March will begin at Emory Johnson Park, located on West Whitman Street.

The route for the walk will start at Emory Johnson Park and continue to the ‘Welcome to Toccoa Sign’ on MLK Way.

Everyone is asked to wear face masks; however, there will be some masks available for those who don’t have one—these will be given out on a first come first serve basis.

Additionally, the group will have complimentary water to keep everyone hydrated during the march.

If you are participating in the peaceful demonstration-march you are asked to refrain from the use of any offensive signs or language.

The march will be followed by a rally at Emory Johnson Park with guest speakers US House District 9 Democratic candidates Devin Pandy and Brooke Siskin.

Again, the Black Lives Matter group will hold a peace walk on Saturday, June 13, beginning at 12 noon at the Emory Johnson Park in downtown Toccoa.
