The Stephens County Development Authority and the Stephens County High School WBL Program recently recognized April’s Work-based Learning Student of the Month, Ella Batson.

Batson is a Junior at SCHS and an employee at Bulldog Car Wash, and company owner Chuck Wrigh says, “Ella is an exceptional worker, consistently showing up with a positive attitude and a smile on her face. She is always willing to lend a helpful hand to her coworkers and step up when she is needed.”

At work, Batson is one of the top customer service representatives, and she is tasked with greeting customers, selling monthly memberships, helping behind the scenes, and ensuring customer satisfaction is met.

Wright says Ella’s commitment to her work and team makes her a staple at Bulldogs, adding that the company is lucky to have her as an employee.

Outside of work, Batson is an active member of the Anchor Club, Beta Club, National Honor Society, and National Technical Honor Society. Additionally, she is peer leader in the Sources of Strength Program, a peer-led mental health awareness group that promotes mental wellness and resilience among students, where she supports her friends, cheers others on, and fosters a sense of connectedness in the community.

Her consistent positivity and dedication have earned her praise from Grace Seagraves, the group’s sponsor.

Batson is also a member of the Indianette Dance and Auxiliary teams, and her coach, Kinsey Cash, describes her as a joy to work with who goes above and beyond in all that she does.

Batson has also played on the SCHS Golf team, and is a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Toccoa and serves on the Ebenezer Young Leadership Board, where she leads Bible studies and supports her peers.

The student of the month for April was sponsored by Bulldogs Car Wash & Express Lube, SouthState Bank, and the Stephens County Development Authority.
