Baldwin named Stephens County School System Teacher of the Year

The Stephens County Board of Education met on Tuesday for its regular scheduled meeting; during which, the Board announced its System Teacher of the Year Award.

Stephens County 5TH Grade Academy teacher Britney Baldwin was named the Teacher of the Year at the 5th Grade Academy but also the Teacher of the Year for the entire School System.

Stephens County Schools Director of Human Resources John Stith presented the award to Baldwin.

Stith then recognized the other schools in the systems’ teacher of the year awards.

Jana Cheek was named Teacher of the Year for Big A Elementary, Laurie Barnes received the award for Liberty Elementary, Kim Deal for Toccoa Elementary, Susan Allgood for Stephens County Middle School, and Tonya Hopper for Stephens County High School.

Also, during the meeting on Tuesday, the board members were recognized for School Board Appreciation Week in Georgia.

Stephens County School Superintendent Dr. Constance Franklin explained that Georgia Governor Brian Kemp proclaimed the week or March 14, 2022, as School Board Appreciation Week in Georgia.
