Back-to-school bash in downtown Toccoa tonight

Main Street Toccoa and the Historic Ritz Theatre are teaming up to bring the Third Annual Back-to-School Bash to the Historic Ritz Theatre tonight, July 28, for inflatable activities, face painting, snow cones, school supplies, treats, and a movie, all free of charge.

Ritz Theatre General Manager Tami Mayhugh told WNEG News that highlights of the event will include a giant inflatable obstacle course outside the theatre from 5-7 p.m.

All children are invited to attend, including those not enrolled in Stephens County Public Schools, Toccoa Special Events Coordinator Misty Richardson said.

Members from First Alliance Church of Toccoa will be on site serving snow cones, and several local businesses will be on site giving out school supplies, candy, goody bags, and more.

Shantelle Grant, Children’s Librarian at Toccoa Stephens County Library, will be offering library card sign-ups and handing out treats.

Donations of school supplies from the Stephens County Senior Center will be distributed and face painting will also be available.

In addition to these regular Back-to-School activities, the Ritz Theatre will be offering a free showing of Minions: The Rise of Gru, beginning at 7:15 p.m. on the big screen.

Concessions will be available.
