Award-winning SCHS Band & Auxiliary performing at Reservation tonight in free show

The Stephens County High School Band & Auxiliary brought home several honors from the Lake Hartwell Marching Competition in Hart County this past Saturday.

The overall band earned an excellent rating and was awarded second place in Class A. The Drumline was rated “superior” and was awarded Best in Class in Class A. The Color guard earned a Superior rating and won 3rd in Class A. The Dance Line was rated superior, and won best in Class for Class A and Best in the Silver Division. The Majorettes were rated Superior and won 3rd in Class in Class A, and the Drum Majors earned an Excellent rating. Flagettes placed 1st in Class A, and Silks placed 3rd in Class A.

The Band & Auxiliary will be presenting their complete 2023 show, “The Crown” tonight at 8 p.m. at the reservation and are inviting the community to come view the presentation. The event is open to the public and there is no admission charge. The handicap gate will be open for entry, and the concessions and restroom will be open for the event. 

The Stephens County High School Band Program includes Marching, Symphonic, Pep and Jazz Bands. The Auxiliary is part of the Marching Band and consists of Silks, Flagettes, and Majorettes.  Zachary Towery is the band director and Kenzie Cash is the Auxiliary Director. Jacob Wood and Tamara Cash are, respectively, the band and auxiliary assistant directors.
