Area Still Low on Positive Cases and No Additional Deaths

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 72 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County with 2,902 residents testing positive for the virus, since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Wednesday afternoon with very little change in the area numbers with 11 new positive cases in the area and no additional deaths.

The latest report still has Habersham County with 139 deaths and now 4,565 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County still has had 39 deaths and now 2,289 positive cases, Rabun County is now reporting 1,447 cases and 37 deaths, Hart County is still reporting 1,676 cases and 35 deaths, and Banks County is still reporting 33 deaths and now 1,579 cases.

According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been a total of 838,570 positive cases of the virus across the state of Georgia, of those, 57,635 have been hospitalized and the total death count due to complications of the virus has now risen to 15,997.
