ARC holds Christmas Party

The ARC of Stephens County hosted, this past Friday, its annual Christmas Party and Dance for individuals with disabilities, held at Ebenezer Family Life Center, located on Rose Lane, in Toccoa.

The group organizers had anticipated 125 members attending the event.

While WNEG News was on site, Organizer Geraldine Hayes said that this marked the 20th anniversary for the Christmas Party and Dance.

“We have been doing this for some time now. We are so thankful that Ebenezer Family Life Center allows us to hold it here at such a beautiful and perfect place,” Hayes said. “Each year we have a great turnout. This year, we will be giving each person a gift, fruit bag, and provide them with a meal. This year everyone will get a winter scarf.”

Several organizations from Stephens, Franklin, and Hart counties received transportation from Avita Community Partners.

The Ebenezer Family Life Center was filled with a large group of dancers who donned smiles the entire time.

Hayes also provided information regarding forthcoming events.

“We also, hold bowling nights every other month, where they can bowl for free, and we also provide a meal. Then in the summer we host a huge picnic,” Hayes added.
