As the weather warms, more people are getting out on the waters of Lake Hartwell and this weekend, boat enthusiasts will want to be at the Hartwell Marina for the annual Antique Boat Show and festival.

The 29th annual Antique Boat Show takes place from 10a to 3p Saturday, April 21 at the Hartwell Marina.

Gary Fesperman is a member of the Blue Ridge Antique Classic Boat Society and will have one of his boats on display Saturday.

“This is a great time to come out and see some unique and classic boats up close and personal,” he said. “You can also talk with the owners about their boats, and see some in action on the water. Owners are always excited to tell the stories behind their boats and show them off to admiring attendees.”

More than 50 hand-crafted boats on will be on display.

“Each of the boats has been meticulously restored by their owner, a result of many hours of sanding, painting, and work,” according to Christine Bloomberg, Hart County Chamber Executive Director.

In addition to the antique boats, there will also be a vintage Porsche show, which will kick off Saturday with a parade downtown.

There will also be fun for the kids with games and a bouncy house.

In addition to the antique boats and vintage cars, there will also be arts and crafts festival and food vendors.

A shuttle bus can take you to the main docks for all the activities.
