Amtrak Crescent Service Disruptions This Month Won’t Affect Toccoa
Service on the Amtrak Crescent line between Atlanta and New Orleans will not take place multiple times over the next month or so due to work taking place on the tracks.
Amtrak said that for 16 days in January and early February, the Crescent will not travel between Atlanta and New Orleans due to track work being performed by Norfolk Southern Railway.
Those dates are January 6 through January 9, January 20 through January 23, January 27 through January 30 and February 3 through February 6.
On those dates, Amtrak said that the southbound train will terminate in Atlanta and the northbound train will start in Atlanta.
All of those dates are during weekdays.
Amtrak said that on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays during this period, the trains will serve all stations along the route but may encounter delays due to speed restrictions and freight train interference.
Crescent service to both Toccoa and Gainesville will continue as normal throughout the whole period.
The Crescent stops twice a day in downtown Toccoa, once in the morning as the train heads southbound and again in the evening as it makes its trip northward.
