Amnesty Day is tomorrow!

Get ready Stephens County to declutter, clean, and dump your junk.

Keep Toccoa-Stephens County Beautiful in conjunction with Keep America Beautiful, Stephens County and the City of Toccoa are holding their annual Amnesty Day celebration, where you can get rid of your junk for free, at the Stephens County Road Department, located at 1597 Scenic Drive in Toccoa.

Dumpsters open at 8 a.m., tomorrow morning and will take your junk until 3 p.m.

County Chairman Michelle Ivester encourages everyone to come out and participate in helping our community stay beautiful.
“The County will be again holding another Amnesty Day on Saturday, April 14, from 8 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon,” she said. “This is just a good incentive to declutter and get rid of the things you don’t use.”

This is a great opportunity for everyone to get involved and to participate in keeping our homes, yards, and streets clean.

This is the perfect time for you and your neighbors to get rid of junk in and around your home, garage or yard, including furniture, mattresses, carpet, grills, toys, appliances, if you’re not using it get rid of it.

The Salvation Army will be on site to collect good used items.

All small loose trash must be in garbage bags, and if you have paint cans make sure they are completely dried out.

Please remember, no tires, liquids or commercial construction materials will be excepted.

Stephens County Amnesty Day is only for residents of Stephens County, County Marshall Tony Addison will be, at the entrance, checking vehicle tags at the entrance.

If you have an out-of-town tag, to prove your residency please bring a piece of mail, such as a utility bill, with your address and your Drivers License or ID with your Stephens County address.
