Amnesty Day in Stephens County is this weekend.

Keep Toccoa-Stephens County Beautiful in conjunction with Stephens County and the City of Toccoa, are hosting the event on Saturday, November 7, at the Stephens County Road Department, located at 1587 Scenic Drive, in Toccoa.

The Amnesty Day event is open to every resident of Stephens County, and provides a way to dispose of any junk that may be cluttering the streets, yards, and homes in the county.

The Amnesty Day event will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday morning.

Like other amnesty day events, Stephens County Amnesty Day is only for residents of Stephens County, officials will be on site, checking vehicle tags at the entrance.

If you have an out-of-town tag, to prove your residency please bring a piece of mail, such as a utility bill, and your driver’s license or ID with your Stephens County Address.

Please remember, no tires, liquids or commercial construction materials will be accepted. All small loose trash must be in garbage bags, and if you have paint cans they must be completely dried out.

Originally, the amnesty day event was slated for April 4; however, due to the coronavirus pandemic the event was cancelled.
