Amnesty Day-Farmers Market Open Saturday
The Stephens County government headlines two events taking place on Saturday.
The 2023 Amnesty Day Event is tomorrow.
As WNEG News previously reported, the Stephens County Board of Commissioners have set the date for the 2023 Amnesty Day event.
The Amnesty Day event will run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Stephens County Public Works Department, located at 1597 Scenic Drive, in Toccoa.
Amnesty Day gives residents an opportunity to dump their junk for free.
Amnesty Day is a perfect time for you and your neighbors to get rid of junk in and around your home, garage, or yard including furniture, mattresses, carpet, grills, toys, appliances, if you’re not using it, get rid of it.
All small loose trash must be in garbage bags, and remember no tires, no liquids, no commercial construction materials, no limbs, or dry brush and only dried out paint cans.
No junk from outside Stephens County will be allowed. All vehicles must have a Stephens County Tag.
Officials will be onsite checking vehicle tags at the entrance of the Public Works Department.
If you have an out-of-town-tag, to prove your residency please bring a piece of mail, such as a utility bill, and your driver’s license or ID with your Stephens County address.

Also, the Stephens County Farmers Market is scheduled to open tomorrow and will run through October 31st.
The Farmers Market will be open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Tuesdays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
County Administrator Christian Hamilton says the market will carry products ranging from fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables to household products, toiletry items, home goods, and more.
