American Legion Post 104 to hold Centennial Celebration this weekend

The American Legion Post 104 will be celebrating 100 years this weekend in Stephens County.

According to Post 104 Adjutant William Tucker the event is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend.

Tucker says the event will celebrate the rich history of Stephens County’s American Legion Post 104 through historical displays.

The festivities will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the Veterans Memorial Park, located at the intersection of Doyle and Hill streets, in Toccoa, and will end at 3:00 p.m.

Tucker says lunch will be provided and there will be inflatable toys for children on site.

He adds that the centennial celebration will be a reunion of past participants of Post 104 through the Americanism Programs, American Legion Baseball Teams, Georgia Boys and Girls State, and the Oratorical Contests and JROTC awards.

Again, the community is invited to attend the event on Saturday, April 27, from 11:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Park.
