Allen named TSC Library Manger

The Toccoa-Stephens County Library has a new manager.

Following the recent departure of former Library Manager Emily McConnell, Leslie Allen has been named the new manager.

Allen has served as the library’s bookkeeper for the past 6 years. She tells WNEG News that she looks forward to continuing to serve the residents of Toccoa-Stephens County.

“I was thrilled when the board offered me the position, because I love this library and the people I work with and the patrons that come in,” Allen said. “I really want the library to be a refuge for people. We have all varying degrees of people that come in, and I want them all to know that they’re important and that they’re welcome here. We have some new things coming up in the new year, and hopefully that will bring more people in, so they can see what we’re all about here and that we’re a fun place to be, here in the community.”

Allen says the library is continuing to plan for its expansion.

She says that in the forthcoming year, there will be a new lunch and learn program.

Lastly, Allen says the library offers many programs for the youth of Toccoa-Stephens County.
