Mr. Allan Gaines Sheriff

Mr. Allan Gaines Sheriff, age 63, of Clarks Creek Road, Martin, Georgia went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, February 11, 2022 at St. Mary’s Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, Georgia.

A son of Leonard Sheriff and Beverly Geoghagan Sheriff, he was born June 4, 1958 in Stephens County where he lived all his life. He was the owner/operator of Allan Construction Company. He was a fishing guide on Lake Hartwell, an avid hunter and fisherman, a wonderful cook and was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lamar and Myrtle Geoghagan and Willie and Lottie Sheriff.

Survivors include his father and step-mother, Leonard and Joyce Sheriff of Eastanollee; mother, Beverly Sheriff of Eastanollee; wife Martha Langford Sheriff of the home; daughter, Alana Sheriff of Toccoa; son, Eric Sheriff of Toccoa; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia and Richard Hare of Westminster, South Carolina and Sandra and Marty Fulghum of Lavonia; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Christopher and Stephanie Sheriff of Toccoa and Darian and Ginger Sheriff of Lavonia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronnie and Nancy Langford of Acworth,  Nina and Bruce Burdette of Toccoa, Nat Simmons of Toccoa and Barbara and Robert Moseley of Martin.

Graveside Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the Sunshine United Methodist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Dr. Bill Hyndman and The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Darian Sheriff, Kirkland Sheriff, Richard Hare, Bart York, Grayson York and Jordan Wansley.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until time to leave for the graveside.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Flowers are optional.  Memorials may be made to Sunshine United Methodist Church, c/o Matt Thompson, 6603 Mize Road, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 or to the charity of one’s choice in memory of Mr. Allan Gaines Sheriff.

Interment will follow in the Sunshine United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Allan Gaines Sheriff.
