Nine people were arrested recently following a search warrant by the Toccoa Police Department.

According to Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize, an early morning search warrant for drugs at a residence near downtown Toccoa ended with nine arrested on felony charges.

He says Toccoa Police Department’s narcotics unit concluded a two-week investigation into drug activity at 201 W. Doyle Street on May 26.

Toccoa Police Department’s Narcotics Unit, Stephens County Sheriff’s Office SRT Team and officers from both departments conducted the search warrant after discovering that Methamphetamine was being distributed from the residence.

Approximately 25 officers participated in the warrant service due to the size of the residence and number of suspected occupants inside.

Mize says approximately 35 grams of Methamphetamine, 2 grams of heroin and marijuana were located in the residence. A firearm was also recovered during the search.
