8th Grade Lady Rebels Advance in Tourney

The Stephens County Middle School 8th grade girls basketball team won the NEGIAA opening round game on Saturday defeating the host Madison County Middle School 36-28.

Dariyah Bell led the Lady Rebels in scoring with her middle school high of 19 points. The Lady Rebels also got 5 points from A’Niya Mayweather, 4 each from Tytiunna Tukes and Jaziya Harbin, and 2 each from Trayinyasia Walker and Aurora Elrod.

The Lady Rebels are now 6-7 on the season and will face Hart County in the semi-finals Wednesday night at 7 P.M. in Danielsville

The Stephens County Middle School 7th grade boys will play host Madison County tonight in the semi-finals at 7 P.M., and the 8th Grade boys will play Elbert County in Danielsville on Thursday in the semi-finals at 5:45 P.M.

The SCMS 7th grade Lady Rebels were eliminated from the tournament on Monday falling to Hart County in a hard fought game 31-28. Carson Stowe led the Lady Rebels with 9 points, Lanesia Verdell had 8, Kylie Glaze 6, and Maddie McGee 2. The 7th grade Lady Rebels finish the season with a record of 3-10.
