7000 More Cases Statewide-3 Area Deaths

There has been a huge rise in positive Covid-19 cases in the state over the past 24-hour period. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, there have been over 7,000 more positive cases of Covid-19 in Georgia bringing the total to 609,868, of those, almost 1200 more have been hospitalized bringing that total to 43,796, and 65 more have died, bringing the total death count due to complications of the virus has now to 10,100.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is still reporting 49 COVID-related deaths in Stephens County with 32 more cases, for a total of  2,325 residents testing positive for the virus since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Thursday afternoon.

The latest report has deaths in Habersham County, Rabun County, and Hart County. Habersham County has now had 93 deaths and now 3,758 positive cases of the virus, Rabun County is now reporting 20 deaths and 1,115 cases, and Hart County is reporting 22 deaths and 1,283 cases.

In other neighboring counties, Franklin County is still at  22 deaths and now 1,760 positive cases, and Banks County is still reporting 20 deaths and 1,227 cases.
