535 residents cast ballots during early voting period in Stephens County

Early voting is continuing in Toccoa-Stephens County.

According to Stephens County Registrar Eureka Gober, as of Wednesday, 535 residents have cast early ballots in the Presidential Preference Primary and Primary Elections.

She says early voting will continue Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily, until Friday, June 5.

Additionally, Gober reminds residents that on Saturday, May 30, the Registrar’s Office will be open from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. for one day of Saturday voting.

She adds that the Registrar’s Office has implemented some safety practices to ensure each voter is protected from the spread of COVID-19 while casting an early ballot.

Anyone wishing to vote by absentee ballot can still request an application for one; however, all absentee ballots are due back to the Registrar’s Office no later than 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 9.

Gober adds that there is a Ballot Box located in front of the Government Building for Absentee Ballots to be dropped off at.

The Presidential Preference Primary and Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 9.
